Zen Boutique Resort

The rooms were comfortable and luxurious, and the air conditioning worked consistently. The grounds are stunning, full of lovely plants and flowers, and the pool is fantastic. Every staff member was friendly, helpful, and lovely. Honestly, I can’t praise them enough, we never needed for anything. Such a peaceful retreat. Zen will always have a special place in my heart, it’s where I got engaged. Thanks so much.

The gardens are huge and lush, with private, spacious bungalows, each with outdoor seating at the front and a really cool open air bathroom at the back. There are plenty of places to lounge by the big pool, and quiet corners tucked into the grounds. The shared lounge and dining building is beautiful and comfortable, with great views from upstairs. There are private areas for yoga, meditation, or reading, plus a separate gym. Zen is a gorgeous, peaceful resort about 15 minutes’ walk from the beach. Jambiani beach is one of the island’s best, and if you don’t fancy the walk, a taxi or cheap tuk tuk can get you there. The food and drinks are great, with a generous, healthy breakfast and good evening meals. The staff and owners are lovely and do everything they can to make you feel welcome. Breakfast was always a pleasure, chatting with Hamfry, though I’m not sure of the spelling, and with the warm, calm, helpful owners Sarah and Ty. I’d recommend it as a good value, quiet stay if you don’t need to be right on the beach. The setting and staff make it a wonderful place. Thanks, everyone!

You feel calm as soon as you arrive at Zen, and it really lives up to its name. It’s a great place to get away and reset, and it’s family friendly too. The rooms are clean, and I especially loved the bathrooms, which make you feel close to nature. Our hosts were present and helpful, and all the staff were pleasant. The service was exceptional. It made me wish I could stay longer!

Wow, what an amazing, gorgeous resort. The rooms were beautiful and super clean. A group of 22 is a lot to handle, but lovely Sarah was so accommodating and helped us arrange taxis and recommendations. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the cocktails and food were always delicious. The BBQ was such a fun evening, with great food and even dance lessons from the staff. I can’t recommend this resort enough!
