We only ate at the restaurant, but came back several times for lunch and dinner. The sea views were lovely, and the food, cocktails, and juices were all excellent. Service was really attentive too. It's worth leaving your hotel for a walk along the beach and some good local food at a reasonable price.

We loved relaxing in the comfy seating areas with their ocean views, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The Bungalows worked well for us, too. The family who runs the place are all welcoming and friendly. They arranged a snorkeling and dolphin swimming tour for us, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend staying here.

The rooms are affordable, and Mohammed and his team made our stay feel like home. They greeted us with smiles and did everything they could to make us comfortable. We had a wonderful time at Mohammed's place.

The owner at Villa Tulia suggested Mohammed's restaurant for my first lunch in Matemwe, and I wound up eating there every day of my 9 days in town. I tried other places in Matemwe and around the Island, including Stone Town and Nungwi, but this was the best restaurant I found. The seafood was fresh and really good, grilled just right, with amazing sauces and marinades. Mohammed is a very friendly, nice guy as well.

I had dinner with the family every day of my week in Zanzibar, and loved both the food and the hospitality. Don't miss the curries. For a starter, the hearty tomato soup was probably the best I've ever had. I also tried another starter, but can't remember its name. Their son took me around the island to see another part of it and showed me his favourite barbershop. I think they may offer affordable laundry service too, if you need it.
