TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar

The beach changes a lot with the tide. At low tide, the water pulls quite far back, so it’s less suitable for swimming straight from the shore. When the tide is high, though, the beach is lovely and swimming is enjoyable. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with attentive, very friendly staff and a calm, relaxing feel. The facilities and service are high quality, making it a great place to rest and unwind. Aside from the natural tides, it’s almost perfect, especially for people who value quality and tranquility and know about the local tide changes.

I used the gym indoors and outdoors, and what made Blue Bahari Hotel special was how the staff accepted all my feedback as suggestions for improvement. I stayed over the year-end holiday for 7/8D, with two connecting rooms, 2107 and 2108. The shower didn’t drain properly, and the lights sometimes went out, leaving me without hot water. I’m grateful to the many security staff, especially Samson, who treated both the Maasai people on the beach outside the hotel and the guests with respect. The team showed thoughtfulness even beyond the hotel grounds. At reception, Karin welcomed me at check-in, and Ali and Safe greeted me warmly throughout my stay. All meals were included, and I spent much of my time in the three themed dining areas. Hassan, the general manager, impressed me with his careful management and leadership, and Salma played an important role too. Saimon provided prompt, attentive service at the Italian restaurant. I can’t forget Aiscia either 😉

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at this gem of a hotel and would happily recommend it. We especially loved the Italian Andiamo restaurant. Hilda looked after us each time with such wonderful service, thank you so much, Hilda! ❤️ Helen in the restaurant and Fatima at the bar gave amazing service too, and James was always friendly and attentive. The cocktail class with Ramia was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. David and Valeria’s exercise classes were excellent as well. The hotel has amazing facilities and staff.

When events in the Middle East affected our flights home, Celestine spent ages helping us work out how to get back. We wouldn’t be getting home without him. There was loads to do, from classes and activities to the pool and beach, and our stay was amazing. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more!
