The hotel handled a power cut in Moshi well, switching on the generators and restoring power within 15 minutes. I stayed here for two nights before and after my Kili trek. The food was very good, AC and wifi worked well, and the shower was decent. It's one of the good options in Moshi, where there aren't many. The main downside is being far from town, restaurants, and grocery stores, though you can eat onsite.

The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to provide great service and anything we needed. The food was amazing too. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had AC and a hot shower. Everything was wonderful.

The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, and hospitable, and the food and its range of options were fantastic. I stayed for 10 days in September and would definitely recommend it. The rooms are basic, but have everything you need. The lodge puts its profits toward helping the school right next door, which is a great cause. We had a great experience.

We really liked knowing that Stella Maris helps fund a local school. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and took time to get to know us. Food was fantastic, with both local and western dishes, and there's a nice view of Kili from the bar when clouds aren't covering it. Our first room had a couple of issues: the shower didn't get very hot, and the mosquito nets didn't quite cover the beds. On our second stay, though, the room was very nice. We loved our time there.
