The beach is stunning, and the restaurant serves tasty food, with one or two waiters who were especially nice. But after three full days, I can say this place wasn't worth it. We initially thought the other reviews were exaggerating. The room didn't feel like a four-star hotel: there were water stains on the walls, holes in the door, and the electronic handle beeped at random times during the night, making it hard to sleep. Upkeep seemed almost nonexistent too. The faucets and the spotlights along the path to the beach were rusty, which is a long way from what you'd expect of a four-star property that was previously rated five stars. Internet was a nightmare. It failed about half the time and was slow the rest of the time, and the card terminal struggled because of it. We were also charged, or nearly charged, for food and drinks that were supposed to be included in our package. The menu doesn't say what's excluded, the rules seemed to change from one day to the next, and staff urged us to sign the bill anyway. Checking it carefully is a must. There was a tied-up pet monkey in the garden and a starving kitten begging for food at every meal. The whole experience felt like it was walking a fine line between deception and incompetence. Don't stay here.

Breakfast with that incredible view was a highlight every morning. Blue Moon Resort itself was stunning and impressively clean, and the restaurant food was amazing. Justice was especially friendly and ready to help every day.

Costa and Adnes made a real difference during our stay. They were warm, respectful, attentive, and professional, and their kindness gave us a sense of comfort and trust as well as joy. Blue Moon Zanzibar is lucky to have people like them on the team. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable, with care and elegance showing in the details. It felt like a special place where natural beauty and genuine guest care come together. Ana's leadership is clear in the way the resort is organized and in its atmosphere and overall quality. The place is very well managed, and she deserves sincere appreciation for her dedication and attention to detail. A resort's beauty matters, but its people are what make it welcoming and memorable.

My family and I were very happy with the hotel's service. I booked three rooms at Blueemoon Resort for my family members from 3rd to 6th April, 2026, and we felt at home while away from home. Justice, Teddy, and Costa in particular made the stay enjoyable. The staff were amazing, and we'll come back if time and resources allow. The Suite with Private Pool was a great choice. It was beautiful and roomy, with a huge comfortable bed and a stunning pool of its own. The resort was spacious, spotless, and so well looked after that we really felt at home. We ate very well too, everything was delicious and nicely presented. Shadrack and Justice were warm, professional, and always attentive to what we needed. It was hard to leave. We already know where we'll go to relax when we're back in Zanzibar. Judith & Roger
