We left straight away and booked somewhere else after money was taken from our locked room safe twice. The first time seemed unbelievable, so we waited until the next day, and then it happened again. The manager showed little interest in solving it and seemed more focused on limiting compensation. We eventually agreed on compensation for the stolen money, but got no apology, and nothing for the unused night. The property itself was in poor shape too. The pool was run down, with weeds growing on the walls. Lots of people seemed to hang around, but very few appeared interested in working. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Hi, Ujamaa Beach hotel resort Makunduchi Zanzibar is beautiful. It has a large swimming pool, strong security guard, free WiFi, a lovely garden, food, a restaurant, beach, free parking, washing machine, electricity, water, games, and more. This place has a special spot in our hearts, and we’re already eager to come back after our second visit. The pool is lovely, the beach is beautiful, and the staff are kind and accommodating. We enjoyed the food, especially the local dishes and generous portions, and the cocktails were delicious. Roger, the manager, deserves a special mention. He was so accommodating, arranged any day trips we wanted, and came by to check on us at dinner every evening. Can’t wait to return!

Even though we’re far from home, Ujamaa Beach Resort feels like home, and we won’t be making this our last visit. It’s a wonderful, peaceful place for relaxing and taking life slowly. We loved the pool area, with its palms and ocean view, and the bungalows were clean, lovely, and done in an African style. The restaurant serves fresh local food and plenty of fruit. The drinks are good, especially the cocktails, juices, and smoothies. And I have to mention the best coffee I’ve ever tried. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Their hospitality makes the whole place feel like home. Thank you for a lovely stay we won’t forget.

We came here to unwind by the beach, and it was ideal. The staff were so friendly and kind, and the rooms had just the right things for a beach stay. Great cocktails and delicious seafood made it even better.
