Horizon Michamvi Beach

It’s a good choice if you want somewhere quiet and calm, and I’d return without hesitation. The restaurant looks out over the beach and bay, with gorgeous sunsets. Walk left along the beach for 15 minutes and you reach a beautiful mangrove. The rooms are simple but do the job, with good mosquito nets. There can be a power and Wi-Fi cut around midday, though neither lasts long. The staff were even nicer than we expected. Dismas makes great cocktails, and the chef kindly went off-menu so I could try local food. Everything tasted fresh and good. Ice cubes weren't a problem, though I know some people worry about tap water. Thanks again.

The hotel itself was hard to fault, with a beautiful setting and pleasant staff. Pascal at reception was consistently friendly and very helpful. I found the kitchen and menu needed some attention, though. The food was pretty straightforward, there wasn't much variety for restaurant visitors, and the ingredient quality wasn't always great compared with other places I visited on the island.

From the moment I arrived until I left, the hotel was aggravating. To put an end to the stress, I had to check out 2 days before my stay was due to finish.

I booked one night through Booking. but never even got inside. I tried to reach them all day, and none of their phone numbers or email addresses worked.
