The meals were top-notch, with a wide choice of dishes, fresh seafood and tropical fruit every day. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly. Olzadia Hotel felt like a home away from home, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of paradise with great service. Five stars don’t seem enough! I stayed in a chalet room at Olzadia hotel in Zanzibar, on the remarkably pure white beaches of Michamvi. The panoramic view over the pool and tropical landscape was breathtaking and gave a lovely feeling of freedom and calm. The room was cozy and spacious, with a modern, well-equipped bathroom and a steady supply of hot water. Each morning I woke up to that view. There was also a fridge for fresh fruit and drinks, and the air conditioning kept the room comfortably cool during the day.

The property is elegant and well kept, with spacious, beautiful, well-built rooms. It’s a lovely choice if you want a quiet resort without crowds. The pristine beach and incredible sunset are less than a minute away, and Michamvi Kae funk is a 5-10 minute walk. I totally recommend this hotel.

The kids and I had a really enjoyable stay at this beautiful haven tucked away in a very quiet area. The food and room were lovely, and the staff’s warm welcome made us feel loved, especially Mr. Humphrey and Mariam. I’d highly recommend it for a destination getaway, particularly for a small young family.

The football pitch nearby was a fun surprise. Local teams play there regularly, and even if you’re not much of a football fan, it’s worth a look. Oelza is a peaceful little boutique hotel about 300 metres from the white beach, with a Dala-Dala stop right outside. The island bus gets you to Paje in around 40 minutes for very little; taxis take about 20 minutes and are easy to find. There are other places to eat near the beach and at the hotels there, and the hotel also runs island tours. We spent two weeks there with my 11-year-old son. Most days were quiet, so we made good use of the lovely pool for swimming and reading. The staff were always friendly, and we enjoyed the restaurant’s mix of local and international food. There was live music or karaoke now and then. Olena, the owner, and her husband Dixon were lovely. We’d happily return.
