Rafiki Backpackers & Guesthouse

The restaurant outside is a really stunning place, and the rooms are clean. The staff are incredibly kind. It’s not right in the centre, but close enough.

Such a lovely experience at rafiki backpackers hostel. The breakfast was nice and the hosts were very good. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We loved the rooftop bar and its view of Kilimanjaro. It’s a good value spot out of town, with friendly staff, and it did the job. The location isn’t ideal, since you need a bhajaji or tuk-tuk to get to and from town, but at 3000 shillings for a five-minute trip, that was fine for a few days. We were promised takeaway breakfast for our final morning but never got it, and the towels were poor quality.

The room was right next to the common area, so when people talked loudly outside, I could hear everything. Still, the single ensuite room was stunning, with everything new and well kept, a perfect toilet and shower, very, very clean, and a comfy double bed. I even had a nice view of Kilimanjaro. I stayed one night before trekking the mountain and couldn’t have asked for more from the room. The staff were kind and picked me up at the bus station. They offered me a delicious corn on the way to the hostel, and kept my luggage safe while I was away. There’s a nice restaurant next door with delicious food, though it’s a bit pricey. Great hostel in Moshi, highly recommended!
