We only spent two days at Kijongo Bay Beach Resort, but felt comfortable from the start. The grounds are spacious, so there’s plenty of room and privacy, and the setting right by the sea is lovely. Sally, Karl and team were warm and looked after us well. The food was delicious, and English tea time was especially relaxing. If you’re nearby, it’s worth stopping in, and if you can, staying a few extra days to unwind. I’d happily come back.

There’s plenty to do here, from mangrove kayaking and spotting beach fauna to local game drives. Or you can just relax with cocktails by the pool. It’s a lovely, out-of-the-way spot for families or couples, with beach access, palm trees, friendly staff and good food.

Getting to the resort could be tricky, so a 4x4 may be the better choice. Once there, the rooms were clean and very nice, the beach was close by, and the food was amazing. A wonderful place to stay.

Morning yoga on our apartment veranda was a lovely way to enjoy the natural surroundings. Kijongo Bay's Swahili-style architecture is beautiful, and it’s a peaceful place to spend time with nature. The resort is remote, but the food, service and setting made the journey worthwhile. Steve and Brit manage it well, and the staff are friendly and on top of things. I’d say you need at least a week to take in all the resort and nearby area have to offer.

We spent New Year 2021 here with family and friends and had a really nice stay. The resort is in a lovely position, and the staff were friendly. The food wasn’t always excellent, and the swimming pool felt a little small.
