You get lake views from around the house, and the location is great: basically in town, but far enough away that there’s no road noise. The rooms are nicely decorated, with everything needed to feel at home, including a kitchen, a living room with a large TV and outdoor seating. Even the German Sheppard mutt was lovely.

The garden is beautiful and rocky, and the lake is only a minute away, which we enjoyed so much. The house is very clean and quiet. I highly recommend staying in Capripoint while in Mwanza.

I’m formally asking for the full TZS 120,000 refund the host promised. I paid TZS 120,000 in advance through Lipa No. on 25/01/2026 for five nights starting 26/01/2026. When I got there around 8:00 PM, the watchman let me in, and the house was in very poor shape, nothing like the photos. It was old and dusty, the refrigerator was filthy and rusty inside, and the floor was worn out. I reported it right away. The host offered to move me to another property, but I’d lost confidence and asked for my money back so I could find somewhere else. They’ve since stopped answering my calls and messages. This was a very disappointing experience, unlike any poor service I’ve had at a BnB or homestay before. Toilet photo:

The hosts were welcoming and accommodating, and the place felt cozy, clean, and peaceful. The views were stunning, but the playful, affectionate dog was what made the stay extra special. I had a great time in Mwanza and would highly recommend it for a comfortable retreat.

Being close to Lake Victoria, Bismarck Rock, the CBD, and other main amenities made the location really handy. The property was clean, well kept, and nicely tucked away. They can arrange airport transfers and tailor made excursions too. Ms Catherine was bubbly, sweet, and such a lovely host. I had an amazing stay at mambo & Jambo and will be back soon. I couldn’t have picked a better place.
