Cactus Lodge Zanzibar

The owners have built a great little place from scratch, and the hosts know the island and gave us lots of good recommendations. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive, too. Our rooms were clean, quiet and unusual, with an amazing bathroom that brought the lovely garden into the space. We loved the outdoor shower, and the pool area felt like a little oasis. We liked being away from busy Nungwi and wanted somewhere quiet. We had a rental car, so getting into Nungwi or driving to beaches was easy. Without a car, walking to the restaurants and shops would take a while, though tuk-tuks and taxis are easy enough to get. The price felt good for what we got, including breakfast, WiFi and parking. We found this gem after hours of searching and only wish I'd taken more photos. Thanks for having us!

Our family of four, with two kids, had a comfortable two-day getaway at Cactus. Anastacia and her team were caring and accommodating whenever we raised a concern, and the whole team helped make the stay comfortable. The lodge has a lovely Swahili design, with a distinctive theme and charm. We especially liked the spacious, clean rooms, private pool and delicious breakfast. It's just off Nungwi road, in a convenient and safe spot, particularly if you like going out in the evening.

Giorgio and his wife were so lovely and accommodating during our honeymoon. Once you step through the gates, it feels like a beautiful little oasis. I'd absolutely recommend staying here if you're coming to Nungwi.

Cactus Lodge Nungwi was a great place to stay. The lodge was clean, the breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were helpful and spoke English, so it was easy to communicate. We also found it well connected to the rest of the island, with an ATM nearby.
