The beach is just a short walk from Uhuru Hotel, with shops, restaurants, and other things we needed nearby. The place has a really peaceful feel, and the staff were warm, smiling, and ready to help from the start. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and nicely prepared, and mornings were especially calm and relaxing. Even when there were occasional power cuts in the area, the staff handled them calmly and professionally, so we still felt comfortable and safe. A lovely spot for a restful stay near the beach.

Avoid this place if you don't want trouble. We booked and paid for a private apartment, but when we arrived they said it had been taken and put us in a room for six instead. They didn't refund us, and the staff were very unkind. Other people had the same problem, and we all left.

Mohammed was a wonderful host and did everything he could to make our stay good. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we really liked the pool. Breakfast was great, and the food they serve is tasty and fairly priced. The main beach is only about a 10-minute walk away.

Be careful, the hotel description doesn't match what you get. There was no bottled water, among other things. The woman at reception was very rude. Every day, something at breakfast had run out, and it wasn't always replaced. They charged us $70 in city tax for the week, while other guests paid less 🤷♂️...

Mohammed, the owner, was a great host, friendly and professional, and seemed to make sure all the details were right. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, working around the clock. We stayed three nights and loved it. Uhuru House felt like a five-star beach villa, with free bikes to explore, relaxing outdoor areas, and a pool surrounded by perfectly kept grounds. Everything was spotless, fresh, and beautifully maintained. The rooms are new, with strong AC and showers, and we got fresh towels for the pool and beach each day. Can't wait to come back!
