After eight nights here, my wife and I are already planning to return. It felt like a real family-run place, and we felt safe and welcome the whole time. Everyone was friendly, from the manager to the serving and cleaning staff. It was one of my best hotel experiences. This is a place to meet Africa, not tourism.

Fabio and Monia arranged the best excursion we did in Zanzibar. At very low tide we walked out over the reef, taking a traditional fishing boat to get there. It felt like being Moana / Vaiana! Kobe House sits between Jambiani and Page, with direct beach access, a pool, and lovely amenities. If you enjoy walking along the beach, you can get everywhere on foot. The owners and staff were kind, and the room was great too. The food was really good, especially the pasta Bolognese. Breakfast was generous in both quality and quantity.

The little forest around the pool and garden gives the property welcome shade, so it stays cooler on hot days. Kobe House is small and has a personal, family guesthouse feel, with fantastic service throughout our stay. It also felt more secure and private since it doesn’t seem to draw day visitors like the neighboring places. I’d stay here for the quiet and service, then have lunch and dinner at one of the more commercial resorts nearby.
