The staff made sure my mom felt celebrated throughout her stay, and took care of every detail from the moment we arrived. We were there for her birthday, and our family will cherish this trip for years. The beautiful surroundings and welcoming atmosphere added to the occasion. Glory, Nellie, Daniel, Joseph, Lissa and Luciana were all warm, kind and wonderful to us. Luciana, one of the managers, also deserves recognition for her professionalism, attention to detail and genuine care for guests. Thank you to the whole team for making the trip so memorable. We highly recommend SBH Kilindini Resort to anyone visiting Zanzibar and look forward to returning.
The calm setting and friendly staff made this a lovely place to unwind. It’s a better fit for families, couples, or older guests than for anyone looking for a party, and the resort is a long way from the main tourist activities. The beach is beautiful, though there can be plenty of seaweed. There’s a pool table and evening entertainment, but a beachside hookah lounge or dedicated DJ might have added something. We ate well during our stay, but the so-called late breakfast was only light snacks like croissants and fruit. For a full breakfast, make it to the main service from 7:00 to 10:00. Cocktails were noticeably better at the pool bar than at the beach bar. Wi-Fi was the biggest frustration: it kept dropping in the room, worked best around the pool and beach, was limited on the balcony, and was almost nonexistent indoors. If you need dependable internet for remote work, I’d get a local data SIM. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, good food, and welcoming team despite a few things that could be improved.
The animation team made our Zanzibar holiday memorable. İdi is new to the job, but full of energy, friendly, and great at making sure everyone has fun. I’d come back just to see him again. Musa was also professional, fun, and cheerful, and together they made a brilliant team. The hotel was great too, and the whole crew did a wonderful job. We highly recommend the place for a fantastic vacation. Thanks for making our stay so special.
The low tide turned out to be a highlight. We could walk across the ocean floor and spot marine life we otherwise wouldn’t have seen, even though the tides were noticeable. The beach felt beautiful and authentic. We visited at the end of May and had lovely weather, with just one short shower of about 15 minutes one morning. Food was fresh and tasty, with plenty of choices, and we loved the coconuts picked straight from the palms. Our room was comfortable and clean, with daily housekeeping. The staff were kind and helpful throughout. We hardly noticed mosquitoes: the apartments were sprayed daily, and we slept comfortably under mosquito nets. We also went on several excursions and enjoyed the holiday to the fullest. The resort had what we needed, and we’d happily return. A couple of practical snags: Wi-Fi dropped now and then, so anyone who needs steady internet should arrange a local SIM or mobile data. We also had one longer power cut in the evening and two very brief ones. Otherwise, we had no other problems.
The evening shows were a real highlight, especially the Masai performance, Mario and Freedom dance group, and the entertainers Musa. I’d also say the Spa is a must, and very affordable. Shout out to Senia. All inclusive is worth considering, and for excursions you may find discounted prices through travel agents. The staff were so friendly that I picked up a few Swahili phrases: “Akunamathata, Jambo, Asante Sana”. Food variety was okay for different tastes, and the pool bar made very good cocktails. It’s a very good place to stay, no regrets. I knew in advance that swimming at the beach wasn’t possible. The overall experience was great, and what you see is what you get.
