There’s sometimes a smell in the rooms, and when the elevator isn’t working, you have to climb the stairs all the way to the fifth floor.

The staff were shouting and making a lot of noise in the corridor. The windows have been dirty since the building was built. The room’s air conditioning controller was noisy, and the voltage machine kept going up and down, making a disturbance all night.

For a budget stay, the rooms were okay and the four nights worked out fine. Cleanliness was average, service was below average, and there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms. We were unlucky with the air conditioning and had to change rooms twice. Since the staff don’t speak English very well, there were quite a few misunderstandings.

The internet was weak, and the water issue needs to be fixed. The hot water served at breakfast tasted bad, as it comes from tanks and didn’t seem hygienic. Breakfast wasn’t the best, and the room was cleaned only on the first and last days.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience. My issue was that a few or maybe most of the staff seemed not to understand what I was saying, whether I spoke English or Swahili. The WiFi was down the whole time, and without a mobile line, there wasn’t much you could do.
