Arusha Serena Hotel

The a la carte lunch was perfectly pleasant, but I found the set dinner menu very unappetising. The hotel is advertised as a Hotel and Spa, yet there are no spa facilities at all, no pool or other amenities, just a massage room that looked unappealing and had very expensive options. With nowhere to go, you're left sitting in your room. There were plenty of staff around, but the service felt confrontational. When we asked questions or requested something different, the responses seemed disinterested. They were also unclear about whether charges should go on the room bill or be paid immediately, and the place didn't feel welcoming. I'd choose somewhere with facilities and, hopefully, more welcoming service if you have the option.

We had delicious meals and were greeted by warm, welcoming, kind staff. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful. I'd highly recommend this welcoming place to stay.

The birthday cake was the best we've ever tasted, and all the meals were delicious. The staff were cheerful, friendly and attentive the whole time, which made us feel welcome and valued. Thanks especially to the GM Satish for a memorable stay and that beautiful cake. Asante sana. Our cottage was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a lovely view of the lush gardens. I liked its traditional design. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and we enjoyed walking through them and around Lake Duluti. With the peaceful setting and wonderful service, Arusha Serena Hotel was a lovely way to begin our Tanzanian safari. I can't wait to return.

I really liked my room, the bar and the dining here. The hotel has an old-world charm and a gentle, slow pace, and the staff go out of their way to help. I spent just one night and would definitely recommend it as a launchpad for a Tanzania trip through Arusha. I ended my safari here after travelling in Kenya and Tanzania, and I'm now on my way to Zanzibar.
