The location was great, and breakfast was good: fruit, coffee or tea, bread, and spread. I paid 32,000 TZS (US$20) in November 2011 for a double room with a shared toilet. One warning, there’s a daily 4:15 AM call to prayer from a loudspeaker about 10 meters outside. The bedroom windows don’t close, and there are no window screens, so the provided bug nets are necessary.

I only stayed one night and moved on the next day. The central location was convenient, but the place was poorly maintained and not worth the price. The mosque next door broadcasts prayers from time to time, and the windows are always open with no way to shut them.

Fine for a cheap, clean stopover for one night, with good Wi-Fi and a decent mosquito net. The bedrooms are small, dark, and old, though they were clean and fresh. Don’t expect a hostel, it’s just a room to sleep in.

We turned up without a booking and got a nice room at this low budget hotel in the city center. The facilities were okay and the staff were nice. If you’re sensitive to noise, the mosque next door may be an issue, as prayers start at five in the morning.
