I walked out without eating the breakfast. It was disgusting, prepared in a room where the cleaner had clearly slept overnight. The egg omelette was cold, and the flask holding hot water was discolored on top. Hygiene was lacking. My first room had no running water in the toilet, just a bucket of water and a jug to flush with. After I complained, they moved me to a room that smelled of damp and mold, with a broken bathroom door and only cold water. The Wi-Fi in the room didn’t work. The hotel sits in a filthy, overcrowded area, with foul-smelling streets leading to the entrance. It shouldn’t be called a hotel. Zero stars, a complete waste of money and an absolute disgrace. Avoid at all costs.

The breakfast is flexible, you can ask for something even if it isn't on the menu, and the staff were really supportive. The hotel is clean, affordable, and close to Stone Town's Darajani market. Just be ready for four floors of stairs, since there's no lift. The nearby market and schools can also be noisy during the day. They ask couples to show proof of marriage before staying overnight, ha ha.

It's a decent option for the price, and they do provide breakfast. There are only two people working in the kitchen, though, so expect to wait your turn and bring some patience.
