Coral Rock Hotel

The staff were really sweet about the problems and handled them well. They apologized by offering us free breakfast, which we appreciated. The water bottle in our room had already been opened and was half full, and the shower barely had any pressure on the first night. It worked fine the next day.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. The restaurant and breakfast area have amazing views. It was a good stay, though a slightly bigger menu would be nice, and some of the outdoor areas could use maintenance.

The beach view was lovely, but I don't feel we got our money's worth. The photos are very misleading. I told them I was coming for my honeymoon, but there were no nice petals on the bed like in the pictures. There was no TV in the room. I partly understood that, since the idea may be to get people out, but taxis were so ridiculously expensive that on days we wanted to stay in, there wasn't much we could do. The hotel is also exceptionally far from anything. We went two days without Wi-Fi and had to go to another hotel to make our stay worthwhile. When we left, I told management that my husband's Fitbit watch, a wedding present from me, was missing from our room. We never took it on outings; it was always charging by the bedside, and the room had been cleaned twice. It also struck me as very strange that guests have to leave their key at reception for cleaning because the hotel has no spare keys. The management showed no compassion and took days to reply. Our bed sheets were torn and in poor condition, too. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd suggest choosing another hotel and avoiding Jambiani if you're looking for a peaceful beach holiday. The disco here goes on until 3 in the morning, and the music is deafening all the way through Jambiani. I wouldn't support this hotel.
