Jafferji Beach Retreat

Christmas at Jafferji Beach Resort was warm, joyful, and magical. The team made it feel festive and special, and we felt part of something rather than just guests. The food was delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared every time, so we looked forward to every meal. From the moment we arrived in Zanzibar, the resort felt welcoming, relaxed, and special. Anish, the manager, went above and beyond and made everything easy and stress-free. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. When I wanted to visit a nearby European shop, he personally took me there on his bike. That kind of personal kindness and care is rare. We can’t wait to return to Jafferji Beach Resort.

Over Christmas, I stayed at Jafferji Beach Retreat with my family, and we had a great time. The peaceful, beautiful location was just what we wanted in Zanzibar, and the food was consistently very good. The resort made the festive season feel special and memorable. Anish, the manager, was professional, hands-on, and genuinely helpful throughout. Nothing felt like a bother to him. He even took me on his bike to get a beard trim in the village, a lovely example of the personal attention he gives guests. That kind of service is rare and much appreciated. It was a warm, welcoming stay, and we’d definitely come back.

The beachside setting is lovely. If you’re a fan of TVs, this place isn’t for you. The staff are lovely, and the food is exceptional. Augustus is an ace chef! As anywhere, it’s smart to check your bill line by line. We love it so much that we keep coming back.

We’ve just returned from 10 days at Jafferji, and the hospitality and service were hard to beat. Staff carried our bags, we were welcomed with fresh juice in the hot weather, and manager Mr. Munisi was there straight away to help us settle in. I’m grateful to Mr. Munisi for looking after our needs and wishes, advising us on getting around, arranging trips, tours, and taxis, and even helping us get sunscreen from a local shop so we didn’t have to wander around the village. He ended up feeling like a friend and advisor. The restaurant staff were all extremely friendly, especially Willy, Witness, and Irene. They even played with our little 5-year-old so we could eat breakfast in peace. The kitchen deserves its own mention: chef Augustine is the GOAT, with incredible skills. Everything we had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner was excellent. He deserves a raise. The prawns were fresh and spot on, the curries fantastic, and he could make things that weren’t on the menu, like pizza, if you asked. I wondered what his secret was, and it turns out to be love, passion, and mad skills. The hotel is in a cozy, quiet spot, the rooms are really spacious for all our bags and stuff, and the pool was clean and looked after every day. The only bad thing is having to leave eventually.
