Guest House Santin

We stayed for 7 days and had a great time. The sea was the one letdown in August, with lots of seaweed. We only spotted jellyfish a couple of times, and there were occasional storms, though the water stayed very warm. Maybe June would be a better time for clearer water. Zamshevy Beach is a little farther away, about 10-12 minutes on foot, and Google can help find it. The entry is gentler for kids and the beach is cleaner than the closest one, which is only 5-7 minutes away. Sometimes people sell baklava, corn, beer, and shrimp there. The nearby attractions are mostly uncrowded beaches and a camping area, plus there’s a nudist beach. Chornomorsk is a 10-minute taxi ride; route 838 cost 60 UAH. Taxi drivers were generally reluctant to take bookings, so it helps to get their numbers ahead of time and negotiate in person. Inna was kind and welcoming, and the kids had quiet time after lunch and in the evening from 10 PM, which suited a family stay. We ordered all our meals, and everything was fresh and tasty, especially the borscht and syrniki. Inna also worked with us on the dishes we wanted. The spacious room matched the website photo, with fresh quality renovations, towels and linens, a water heater, and a kitchenette with dishes on the balcony. The courtyard was clean and cozy. The house is behind a barrier, with parking, video surveillance in the courtyard and on the street, a playground, and a nearby kiosk selling groceries and household goods. This is the kind of place that makes you want to return.

The sandy beach was comfortable and rarely crowded, especially on weekdays. We also appreciated the air conditioning, fridge, and stovetop in our room, and the accommodations felt right for a family holiday. The hosts were especially accommodating. It’s a very good private hotel, and they can arrange a shuttle from Odessa train station.

Santin made for a relaxing family stay, with lovely grounds and clean, cozy rooms. The plumbing was good, hot and cold water ran around the clock, and every room had a complete kitchen. It’s an easy four-minute walk to the sea. Our family enjoyed it a lot, and we’d confidently recommend it.

We spent 1-11.08.2017 here as a family, and would come back next year if we can. Everything was tidy, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. The sea was lovely, with plenty of space to lie on the beach wherever you wanted. There was no garbage, jellyfish, or water lilies in the water, and no baklava sellers walking along the shore or music from banana boat rides, since there weren’t any there. It was completely peaceful, just the sound of the sea. Thanks to Inna and Denis for their hospitality. Keep it up, we liked everything.
