Guest House Shafran

We've stayed here two years in a row, and our child has had a great vacation both times. The place is quiet, peaceful, and safe, with clean, comfortable rooms and a TV. The beach matters most to me, and it's clean. I really like how the owners treat their guests. There's a kitchen where you can cook, or you can order separately from the hotel's good menu. The grounds are gated and there's parking. In my opinion, it's a family place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle, so it won't suit you if you want noise and parties.

We first came to Guest House Shafran four years ago after Irochka suggested it, and Alexey and Irochka have welcomed us every season since. They find something new for guests each year. This time, the new feature was three meals a day in a cozy dining room. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the dishes to the room. Breakfast began with fragrant coffee, and the food was excellent, really restaurant quality. Irochka is a wonderful hostess, and Alexey made delicious mussels, shashlik, and grilled vegetables. We got to join a party celebrating an award for a repeat guest, and the food was all delicious with huge portions. The grounds are spacious, green, and tidy, with a children's play area, a sitting spot by the room, and a barbecue area. The rooms are cozy, have modern renovations, and are thoughtfully equipped. The sea views are incredibly beautiful, and the beach is spacious, clean, and quiet. Thanks for the warm welcome, heartfelt conversations, wonderful attitude, beautiful photos from our photo shoot, discounts, and an unforgettable vacation. There are just two worries: our 12 days of vacation fly by, and by spring there are almost no summer bookings left. So book early! We highly recommend Guest House Shafran for a memorable family vacation. It's hard to leave, and we always want to come back. Looking forward to summer 2021!!!

We stayed in 2020 and had a good experience overall. The hosts were welcoming, the grounds were lovely, and the sea was excellent, with few people and not a long walk away. The walk is on slopes, though, so keep that in mind. Three meals a day were included, which was convenient, and the food was tasty. The portions were small, so the corn sold on the seashore was a saving grace. There wasn't enough space outside to dry towels, even though the place was almost full, and some towels may be stained. Soundproofing in the family room was really poor. We could hear everything when the dog ran around, though it didn't bother us too much. I've focused on the downsides because I think the hosts could address and improve them.

Our experience was negative. There was no soundproofing in the room. The owners lived above us, and we could hear every step, their voices, and their dog running around from 5 a.m. We told the hostess, then decided to think it over until morning and stay the night because we'd been traveling for 14 hours with a small child. We'd prepaid for one day and arrived at 18:00, but they asked us to leave that very evening, as soon as possible. Where were we supposed to go? They later offered a room at the neighbors', but we needed a kitchen in the room to cook for our child. Dry cereal and sandwiches weren't suitable. This guest house has only one room with a kitchen, the family room, which was ours. The neighbors only had a microwave, and using a shared kitchen wasn't an option for us. At the owners' request, instead of resting we had to look for another place so Irina could reopen the booking urgently. In the end, they called us scammers and asked us to leave before the stated checkout time, at 10 a.m. Irina openly insulted us. Other things you won't see in the photos: the mattresses were uncomfortable, and you could feel the springs by hand. The towels were gray and unwashed. There was mold on the bathroom curtain and tiles. The dishes in the room with the kitchen were dirty and smelled strongly of fish. I asked for vinegar or lemon, anything to clean them so I could make breakfast, but was simply told to look for everything in the shared kitchen. You may have to wash the dishes yourself after the previous guests. If something bothers you and you tell the hostess Irina, expect to be told to pack your things and be spoken to rudely.
