Hostel Terminal

Good afternoon. I’m writing while upset, and for context, I’m a woman. The part that really made me angry was coming back to find the table moved so it blocked the way to my bed. The cleaners had turned my underwear inside out, touched the things on my table and my shoes, and after that I couldn’t bring myself to eat the water and dried fruit I’d left there. Earlier, before 8 a.m., the cleaning crew came and tried to open my door with a key without knocking. Luckily I was dressed and my key was in the lock. Once I opened it, they hurried in to hang a curtain and take out the trash without saying a word. I couldn’t reach the administration because my work hours matched hers, and the security guards said they weren’t responsible, which I can understand since they’re only guards. There were also basic problems I could put up with: about 20 rooms with four or five beds each share just one shower, and there was no soap or toilet paper in the bathroom. The beds are so narrow that, even curled up, my knees stuck out by about 20 centimeters. The closets smelled awful, like they hadn’t been opened in ten years, so I couldn’t hang my clothes. For some reason, staff washed the curtains on the day I checked in even though the room had been empty. When I got back, they’d shut all the windows and closets I’d opened to air out the smell.

I can’t speak to the Terminal Hostel because I’ve never stayed there. I’m talking about Terminal itself: the staff and service are excellent. What makes shopping there frustrating is how often the merchandise sections get moved. You get used to where things are, then a week or two later they’ve been shifted again, leaving regular shoppers confused and wasting time. I know many customers who’ve stopped coming because of the constant disorder. I also want to mention the quality of some goods. Low-quality products show up quite often, especially meat, minced meat (though that one is rare), and packaged fish. I’ve seen fish that seemed over-smoked, with spices that appeared to mask its expiry date. This has happened to me more than once, and it feels like throwing money away without the usual checks. Please don’t keep moving products around so often. That’s all I wanted to say. Sorry, and thank you.

Frisbee players, if you’re reading this, the hostel is okay as a backup or for one night. It’s clean and tidy, but there isn’t much else to say. There’s nothing to do in the kitchen, no Wi-Fi, and I couldn’t find hot water in the shower. Good luck, everyone.

This hostel is awful for the price. The kitchen is always a mess, and the security guard is rude. Cleaners may turn up whenever they like and start cleaning without asking or knocking, and they go through your personal things. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
