The rooms were clean, and the staff were helpful. It was the most comfortable place I stayed in around Uzhhorod. It would be useful to have a card terminal for payments, and maybe offer students a discount.

I really liked this hostel. It beats staying in a decent apartment.

The administrator was so helpful, and the place is lovely. The hostel is comfortable and easy to use. Thank you!!

We’d never stayed in a hostel before, but this one made us glad we tried it. The price is affordable, and the conditions are better than at many hotels. Everything felt modern and tidy, from the clean rooms and bathroom to the kitchen. Even the bed linen smelled pleasantly of detergent and had no stains. There are coffee shops, two shops, and a cafe nearby where you can eat. I came away with only good impressions and would like to return. Definitely recommend it.

I’ve been a regular customer at Island hostel for a long time and have often sent my female doctors there on work trips. After what happened today, I won’t use the hostel again, and I can’t recommend it to anyone who expects basic courtesy and respectful service. I made a straightforward request to reserve an entire room for my female employees, even if fewer people would stay in it. I was willing to pay the full rate for every bed, whether that meant 3 people paying for 4 or 6, depending on which room was available on the dates we needed. I wasn’t asking for a discount or special terms. I just wanted the women to stay together without strangers, and even offered to pay extra to keep the room for us. Instead of sorting it out over Viber, the administrator stopped replying and called me. The conversation quickly became rude and unacceptable. She raised her voice, interrupted and shouted, complained about her pay, and said things like “I don’t want to work with you”, “who are you to dictate rules to me”, “I will not comply with your demands”, “I am an ordinary administrator”, and “I am sitting here for pennies”. When I said I’d pay extra for the whole room, she shouted “what do you allow yourself”, “book a hotel”, and again “I don’t want to work with you”. In the end, she refused to let us stay at all. A customer ready to pay the full price, or even more, shouldn’t be shouted at or refused just because the administrator doesn’t want to do the job properly. I found the behavior deeply unprofessional and rude, and it reflects badly on the establishment.
