Art Hotel Vykrutasy

The balcony has a lovely view, and the courtyard is a real plus. The hotel feels homey and has what you need. Rooms and showers are generally clean, though there are patches of black mold on some walls. Cleaning is infrequent, and the bed linen doesn't get changed often. The place is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and rooms that feel like a fairytale cottage. The building sits on a steep hillside, which makes getting around less convenient. Parking is advertised, but spaces aren't reserved for guests' rooms, and the lot is so small that arriving late can leave you looking for somewhere to park. Breakfasts are filling, with two mini sandwiches, a main dish such as pancakes, scrambled eggs, or potato pancakes, plus simple homemade pies for dessert. The menu didn't wow me, though. The other food was edible but not especially good. Still, I really enjoyed my stay. Nearby vats, saunas, ski slopes, and popular restaurants are about a 5-10-minute drive away. The only real drawback was the steep uphill drive to the hotel. We came as a group of friends for a corporate event and stayed for nine days, with more than 20 adults and children. Everyone had a place, and things worked out great. The staff were all friendly, the food was delicious, and we didn't need to go elsewhere for meals. There are mountains nearby with berries and lovely scenery for walks.

The drive up is steep, and when it snowed once I couldn't make it to the hotel by car. You can also hear things through the wooden building. Still, I liked the hotel and would recommend it. It's decorated in an interesting, attractive style, and the bed and likely orthopedic mattress were very comfortable. The staff were warm and attentive to guests. The food was lovely, especially the cream of mushroom soup, mushroom soup, banosh, and trout. They also have liqueurs and other things. The mountain location is excellent. Breakfast that's included, though, was awful: very cheap sausage and margarine instead of butter. The paint was off-white. We declined that breakfast and chose to order from the menu instead, with 60 grams deducted.

The rooms were warm, with a lovely view through the windows of tall fir trees covered in snow. Building 2 also has a comfortable lounge with a fireplace. The location wasn't convenient for us, and we were unhappy with the restaurant. Breakfast was filling but not tasty. At dinner the meat seemed to have been boiled first and then fried, and the presentation was odd. The breakfast omelets were more like pancakes, and came out cold. Food quality matters to me.
