Villa Victoria

Staff were friendly and attentive, and there’s drinking water on every floor. The rooms were fine, sometimes with a good view, and there’s a locker room where you can store gear and dry your boots. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The ski elevator #1 is close by, about 150 m away. Had a great stay, recommended!

There was construction noise until 12:30 at night, and two of the three rooms my family booked had no windows. The spaces felt very limited. My room’s bathroom had a horrible smell, so I had to shut the door both when going in and leaving. The pool was nice, but it didn’t look as long or as impressive as the online photo. The rooms did look nice with their wood walls, and the beds were pretty good.

I booked through booking.com and expected payment to be handled like with other bookings. Instead, they sent a message I didn’t see asking for a deposit by SWIFT transfer. When I arrived, they said the deposit hadn’t been paid, so they hadn’t held the room, and I was left without a place to stay in the middle of the season. Why use booking.com if guests have to make an international transfer? This feels like a step backwards. I’m very disappointed, won’t come back, and will tell my friends not to use this hotel.

The customer service was very poor. There’s no sound insulation, so you can hear what people are doing in the next room. No kettle in the room either. Since we visited in winter, we kept milk and food on the balcony. There was no air conditioning, and the room got so hot I had to turn off the radiator. It’s not far from a shop and R1.
