Goodzone Countryside Complex

It’s a beautiful place in every season, with lovely grounds and special trails nearby. The staff are helpful and know their stuff. It is a little pricey for a hotel in Ukraine, but you get a relaxing stay and great quality. I’d recommend the spa, especially the mix of saunas and the option to cool off in the river.

The beach water was full of algae, and the beach itself wasn’t anything special. We paid 1,000 UAH per person at the gate for a card to spend inside, but the gate wasn’t opened for us, so we had to park and walk a kilometer. A security guard, around 50, watched us suspiciously for three hours, which felt really uncomfortable. There was no beach service, so we had to go to the restaurant. Getting there meant walking another kilometer around the buildings, since we couldn’t enter from the terrace or pool. The tables were packed together, and we couldn’t choose where to sit. It felt like a cheap cafeteria. The food was average: overcooked pasta with very little duck, and bland fish. The whole place made me wonder if Good Zone was designed in communist times, or meant to be a jail.

Each time I come back, it feels even better. The river, lakes, pine trees, fantastic rooms and great beach make it feel like paradise. The bar is the best I’ve ever seen, and the food is delicious, fresh and locally grown. Sergey, the general manager, is friendly and professional, and sets high standards. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great, relaxing time and fresh air.

I’ve had few sauna visits as good as this one. Good Zone’s traditional sauna by the river is well worth a visit. Make sure to book ahead, especially for weekends, since it’s in high demand.
