The location is the only thing going for Art Gir. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The administration was dismissive when we raised concerns, and only focused on the fact that the shortcomings were supposedly 5% out of 100. Two years ago, using the shared kitchen wasn’t a problem, but this year it was. Calling it a kitchen is generous: it was untidy and greasy, and the trash hadn’t been emptied for a week. Guests apparently prepare food there. Hello, rotavirus! If you can, take the tenth road around this place.

The hotel’s location was convenient, within walking distance and a short bus ride from plenty of things to do. We stayed from July 9, 2024, to July 19, 2024, and had a lot of problems with the accommodation. Our room and bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. There was dust and cobwebs, and the bedding didn’t feel fresh, perhaps poorly washed or not washed at all. The sheets and towels weren’t changed during the 10 days. The dining room was dirty too, with flies getting in through unscreened windows, and it wasn’t cleaned once during our stay. The website and the owner, Roman Chuiko, said we couldn’t use the kitchen because we’d rented a room. By the end, nobody was allowed to use it. What’s the point of that? The administration blamed the lack of cleaning on power outages. There’s no receptionist on site, only someone you can call. This is a place for one night, not a longer stay. I’d tell the owner to clean the place before being rude to guests. P.S. Bring flashlights because of the power cuts.

The location was good and the grounds worked well for a large group. Still, we’ll look elsewhere next time, and I wouldn’t recommend this base. Quite a few things were broken or close to breaking, including sockets, the sofa, an armchair, the shower, and locks. The room lock failed while we were there, though it had already been working poorly and clearly wasn’t new. The owner asked us to pay 3000 UAH for repairs. Meanwhile, the sofa we’d counted on as two sleeping places, as shown on the website, was broken, and we were offered no fix or compensation. In the seven-bed room, a bench counts as a proper bed, and a small, badly broken sofa is counted as two more places. There were hardly any sockets, and some of the ones in the house didn’t work.

We spent two nights here. The room and bathroom were clean and nice, and the administrator was friendly. We had a great view from the window. I recommend it.
