Getting to the house might look tricky. I’d read that you need all-wheel drive, but my low-clearance sedan made it up without any trouble. The one drawback was the lack of lights in the kitchen and outside. The place was clean and cozy, with room enough for two families. It’s in a great location and has a stunning view. I was happy with my stay and can recommend it.

The house is in a great spot, and we were happy with everything except the smell from the living-room sofa. Someone staying before us had been sick on it, and we had to live with that odor. We only saw the owner when we checked in. He said he’d bring firewood, but we never saw him again. Otherwise, all was fine.

The cottage has large rooms, everything needed for a relaxing stay, and a gorgeous view from the window. The owner was great and helped with all our questions. A couple of things made the stay less comfortable: the soundproofing is poor, so you hear every conversation, and the shower pressure drops if someone is washing dishes. Getting there requires a four-wheel drive vehicle, since it’s a very steep climb.

We paid a deposit when we booked the cottage in winter 2020, six months before the pandemic began. It closed during quarantine in summer 2020, so we agreed with the owner to put the deposit toward a booking the following year. Then quarantine restrictions meant we couldn’t travel that year either. We gave the owner six weeks’ notice and asked for our deposit back, but he flatly refused. We were completely taken aback by Yuri’s dishonesty. I don’t think a host who cares about their reputation should treat guests this way.
