Gosprom district

Location, staff, cleanliness.

The location right in the city center and the low price are the only real pluses. If you're just passing through or working in Kharkiv, it might do. But if you want to enjoy the city and get proper rest, don't stay here. I've never lived somewhere worse. It's a dump, like few others. The cleanliness is awful, and at night there can be drunken fights or even people having sex. Some guests smoke weed, though not indoors, and seeing drunk people sprawled around isn't pleasant either. The boiler never seemed to have enough hot water for everyone. Random people could also turn up to visit and stay the night.

The kitchen is so cramped and constantly covered in rubbish that decent guests can't even sit down at the table to eat. Some people drink there all the time, and the owner, or whoever he is, chats with them almost like they're friends. Guests seem able to drink all night, leave a mess everywhere, and smoke weed in their rooms. If you check out, they absolutely won't let you wait for your evening bus or train, even if you've already given up your bed, and even in winter. That's how things are at this hostel.

We were satisfied with our stay. It’s a peaceful place with a snug courtyard and a parking spot.
