Black Sea Hotel

I stayed for six nights and paid about 45 euros a night, which felt expensive to me. I’d consider 30 euros a normal price. The room was clean and got cleaned daily, and the staff were kind, helpful, and efficient. Breakfast was very poor. It’s about a 20-minute walk from Pecherska Metro Station to the hotel.

It was quiet, with spacious suites and a comfortable bed with fresh linens. Staff spoke English and Russian and were friendly, especially the black-haired woman in the restaurant. The price was average, and breakfast tasted good, though each person was strictly limited to one serving. Bus and metro stations and local grocery shops were a 10-15 minute walk away. The room called a suite was really just a large, mostly empty space with some furniture. The double bed was far too short for me at 194 cm tall, and the curtains had a dusty smell. Hot water took 5-10 minutes to come through. The minibar prices didn’t fit the general pricing, and the TV didn’t work, though that wasn’t a big deal for us.

It’s a decent-value place to sleep and get around the city by Uber. The centre, including Independence Square, is a bit far, but an Uber costs about £3, so that’s not bad.

The room’s big window gives you a lovely view, and the beds are really comfortable. It’s a nice-sized hotel with large rooms and very pleasant staff, all at a very reasonable price.
