Diplomat ApartHotel

I had a reservation with free cancellation through September 1, but on August 26 the hotel demanded full payment within 12 hours and said it would cancel otherwise. They wanted cash sent through the Ukrainian banking system, which I couldn’t use while outside Ukraine. I asked them for another way to pay and got no reply. Instead, they cancelled my booking on August 27. This place was terribly unreliable in my experience. I’d only recommend it if you’re prepared for an unresponsive hotel that might cancel your reservation at short notice without a particular reason.

They cancelled my reservation at the last minute because they could get a higher price. A booking here isn’t guaranteed. If you want a sure reservation, don’t send a deposit, go somewhere else.

A good place to stay in Kiev, near the centre and on the bus from the main railwaystation. Just be careful with late check-in.

At 22:11, they told me I had 12 hours to pay or they’d cancel, apparently without considering that those hours included eight hours of sleep and the morning of a working day. This was a month before the trip, even though booking.com still showed three weeks of free cancellation. They wanted the money transferred to some man’s CREDIT CARD. I’m glad they showed how unreasonable they were right away. I cancelled calmly and found somewhere else. I wouldn’t advise dealing with this “hotel.”
