Solo Apartment Ahmatovoy

I come to Kyiv often for work, and this place used to be a regular choice because it’s close to my office. This time, though, the whole stay was awful. I was ready to overlook a lot, and even considered bringing my own blanket, but the room was large and freezing, with gray torn curtains, a dirty blanket without a duvet cover, and a broken radiator. The air conditioner took a long time to heat the room. I’m attaching a photo as proof. I was at work all day and only came back to sleep, but there was no cleaning for seven full days, and nobody even offered it. I paid on a Privat Bank card. The hallway was constantly smoky, too. One evening, a neighbor came out drunk in his underwear and started talking to me. The administrator apparently thought that was fine, and told me to take something else off after I asked him to stop bothering me. I’m shocked. I feel sorry for the owner, because this extremely unpleasant person working there is ruining the business. If a customer like me, who was willing to put up with so much, isn’t good enough, who is?

The modern plumbing was in good shape, but it couldn’t make up for the rest of the apartment. It felt very worn and smoky. The mattress was soft and sagging, and the bed slats were held together with tape. The chairs’ faux leather was scuffed and ripped, and there were drink stains on the table legs.

We’ve been coming back to this room as a family for several years, booking well ahead, and they’ve never forgotten us or let us down. It’s always clean and smells fresh, with everything we need. The bed is comfortable, and there’s a big, cozy sofa too. A lovely place to unwind.

The owner was so polite and pleasant, and arriving early was no problem. This mini hotel is on the 17th floor of a residential building, and the room has everything you need: a private bathroom, bathrobes, towels, slippers, a fridge, dishes, microwave, TV and air conditioning. It’s clean and tidy, with a new renovation. There’s a hypermarket and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. You can park by the building, or use the paid lot five minutes away for 30 UAH a day if you’d rather.
