UA Hostel

Clean, reliable, friendly, and it feels like home. Wonderful. Special thanks to Zina, Nadiy, and Natasha. I stayed in a family room from July 9-14. Though it’s called a hostel, I found it more comfortable, and safer than my own home. They clean constantly and do their best to make guests comfortable. Don’t worry if you don’t speak English or Russian, they’ll find a way to help. There’s always a smile, and you can arrive late at night. Staff will answer the doorbell and let you in, though they’re so friendly you almost feel bad waking them. There’s hot water 24 hours a day in two bathrooms, and the three toilets are very hygienic. They discreetly clean them after use. The kitchen has tea, coffee, tap water, a refrigerator and a washing machine. You can smoke without bothering anyone by shutting the kitchen and balcony doors. I spoke to previous guests, and they prefer to come back. The guests are respectful and well behaved, and you can enjoy a drink without making noise or disturbing anyone. It may look far from the center, but it’s in a large, luxurious complex. The metro is a five-minute walk away, and you can reach the center in 30 minutes. Three shopping malls are about ten minutes away: Novus, Aradia and Sportmaster. I’d pick Aradia, it has everything. Novus is like Migros in Turkey. There are lots of nearby places to eat, including KFS, McDonald's, Mafia and the upstairs area at Arkadia. There’s also a pharmacy on-site. You don’t need a doctor’s report like in our country. They may not recognize medicine names, but Google Images can help you figure things out. You might need that when temperatures drop from 35 degrees in Izmir to 12 degrees in Kyiv. For an evening flight, you can leave your luggage in the locker after checkout. I didn’t even need to lock mine. An Uber from Kyiv Zhuyayn Airport costs around 140 Hryvnia and takes at most 30 minutes. I researched hundreds of places before coming, and I’d rule out the other options. Bring three packages of Turkish Delight, I regret forgetting them. I already miss the peace and quiet.
