Apart Hotel on Rynok Square

A nightmare. The administrator, Damian, canceled the booking because we hadn’t been told in advance that a lower bed wasn’t available. My daughter said she’d leave feedback about what happened, and Damian then marked her reservation as a no-show and canceled it while she was standing outside the hostel. Don’t book here. The staff don’t know how to behave.

The bed was comfortable and the price was very affordable for a place to sleep. Finding it was difficult, though, since there were no signs anywhere. The staff didn’t speak English, so I had to use a translator to communicate.

My child and I were left on the street at 5am. The reservation was confirmed, early check-in had been arranged, and the hostel had given us a phone number, but nobody answered when I called. There wasn’t even a sign with the hostel’s name.

The location was confusing: Google Maps gives a different address, and the hostel is on the top floor of an old building. It’s an apartment with several rooms, two toilets, and one shower. The corridor and shower had a really unpleasant smell. Our room had old, uncomfortable, lumpy mattresses that squeaked, and the towels, though clean and washed, looked 30-40 years old. We stayed two nights in a double room. It was warm, very warm in fact, so we opened the window, and it smelled nice. It’s also close to Market Square.
