The staff were welcoming, and the breakfast they packed for my early departure tasted good. But the mold smell in the cheaper rooms and shared bathrooms was unbearable. There was a faint odor in the lobby, then a much stronger one in the room, and the bathroom smell was so bad I had to leave to brush my teeth. I couldn’t sleep because of it. Opening the windows didn’t bring proper airflow, and there was no AC. It’s a miserable little place to end up in. Laying with Chaplin in the the Grave.

For a “3-star” hotel, having a shared bathroom that isn’t clean is unacceptable. The rooms and other facilities don’t seem to have proper ventilation, and the whole place felt dirty and too expensive. We should’ve checked the other reviews before booking.

Our room was really spacious and looked brand new. The location was perfect.

We booked a suite on the day we checked in, while already on our way to Lviv. It cost us the same for two nights as one day in an apartment near Rynok Square, so it was a good price. The location is a little walk away, with plenty of parking. Our room was right by the entrance, which seemed like a drawback at first, but we ended up liking it. The suite looked lovely, felt cozy, and was clean. I loved Lviv all over again on this trip, and also fell for the atmosphere of the suite at Chaplin and the smiling receptionist. I’ll definitely come back. I only got this one photo, but it’s still beautiful ❤️ I’m writing because I’m tired of seeing people unfairly drag the hotel. Some complaints seem unreasonable to me. The soundproofing is like an ordinary apartment, so I don’t understand why people tolerate neighbors and traffic at home but get angry about it here. Our room was clean, had toilet paper, and even came with slippers, shampoo, and soap. If something’s missing, just ask for a replacement or provide it yourself. As for the locked entrance at night, people lock their own apartments too. There’s no security, and the one man and one woman working there take shifts, so they may need a couple of hours’ sleep overnight. Let them know if you’ll leave early or arrive late, get their number, and call when you need to come or go. We asked them to open the door in the middle of the night a few times and told them we wanted to leave early for sunrise at the High Castle. The lovely woman woke us up, brought coffee, and wished us a good day. Maybe this sounds like an ad or an attempt to fix the hotel’s reputation, who knows. I’m just a guest who cares about Lviv and thinks the comments are unfair. And no, we’re not rich people living it up in a suite.
