Hostel Perfetto

It was okay.

We liked the stay, apart from the towels, which were stained and looked worn. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a big double bed, clean bedding, a sofa bed for two, a table, chairs, and hanging space. It also had a TV and its own bathroom. They offered it to us for 500 UAH, just 50 UAH more than our double room booking, because there weren’t many guests and it was bigger and better. We only needed somewhere to sleep and shower, so we agreed. We had Wi-Fi, towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and disposable slippers. There were separate keys for the room and the apartment hostel. A kitchen was available, along with a washing machine and refrigerator, though we didn’t use either appliance. There’s a shop, pub, and cafe nearby, and pretty much everything is walkable. We booked through hostel24 without paying in advance. Finding the hostel was a bit difficult despite it being a 15-minute walk from the train station, but a man met us and showed us around.

We had a comfortable orthopedic mattress and clean, pleasant bedding, and the room was cozy, quiet, and peaceful. It had a private bathroom, table, and chairs, so we ate in the room. We stayed four days and were glad to find clean towels, soap, shampoo, and shower gel. The shared kitchen has dishes, a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle. There’s also an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and washing machine. The room’s cable TV stayed off, and we unplugged it to get another outlet for charging. Although it’s listed for two, the room can sleep four or five with its double bed, fold-out sofa, and extra single bed, so it works well for families with children. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the train station and half an hour from the city center. 10 out of 10!!!

There was no sign at the entrance, just an unmarked apartment, so finding the hostel meant asking people. I’d booked a four-bed suite in advance, but somehow the booking turned out to be for two people. After paying a 700 UAH deposit, I was treated rudely and they stopped answering my calls. I spent two hours sitting outside their door with my suitcases and they still wouldn’t let me check in. I still haven’t got the deposit for the night back. I highly recommend it.
