Country House Kosiv

Of the places available to rent in Kosiv, this was the best one to stay at.

Nadezhda made sure we knew where to eat, shop for groceries, and find souvenirs. There are plenty of places to eat in town if you'd rather not cook. We left with better health, a tan, and lots of knowledge about the Carpathian region, after a stay full of good experiences. Many thanks for such a warm welcome, and we'd happily recommend the place. The terrace looking out over the mountains was magnificent, and the rooms and landscaped grounds were lovely. Yuri, Nadezhda, and Ivan were welcoming and quick to respond to our requests. They introduced us to Aleksandr, a local geographer, who took us on a mountain hike to the Dovbush Rocks. We picked mushrooms and berries, stopped for mushroom soup, and had herbal tea. Ivan and I also climbed to a hydrogen sulfide spring and picked more blackberries than we'd ever seen growing wild. Ivan helped us visit the museum of the Kosiv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts and showed us a great swimming spot in the Rybnitsa mountain river. Yuri took us to the Sheshorsky waterfall and a trout farm in the village of Yavoriv. My husband and I stayed in August 2018. It was a perfect place to relax, with European-level service and a Carpathian feel.

The best part is the owners, Mrs. Nadiya and Mr. Ivan, who are warm and sincere and happy to share what they know about the area. At Country House Kosiv, mornings mean coffee brewed with forest water on the sunny terrace, birds singing, and an unreal view. The house sits on a mountain with a lovely panorama and a well-kept garden. There's herbal tea that smells like summer, plus a red cat and a black dog. Such a wonderful place all around!

The hosts were welcoming and polite, too. Much respect, and I definitely plan to come back. I stayed over the May holidays and travel around Ukraine a lot, but I haven't found a cleaner place to stay in any city or hotel in the country. The cleanliness really stands out. The little house has everything you need: dishes and pots, a fridge, washing machine, iron, towels, TV, Wi-Fi, heated floors, parking, and even a fireplace for a romantic evening. The details have been thought through, which made the stay comfortable and pleasant. It's about seven minutes from the city center, but stepping onto the terrace feels peaceful and close to nature, with none of the city's bustle. The large windows look out over the garden and distant mountains.
