Apartments a-la Deribas

We booked less than an hour before arriving late at night, but still got an early check-in. After checkout, we were able to leave our luggage in a hotel locker. We stayed for two nights in this quiet, clean place on Odessa’s main street. The staff were pleasant and quick to respond, and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Definitely recommend it for a couple of days in the city center.

The breakfast is served in the next-door restaurant, which is elegant and overlooks a spacious square. The food is hearty and tasty. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, right in central Odessa, with cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby for exploring downtown. The employees are kind, dedicated, and always smiling. I’d recommend this hotel.

Its main advantage is being on the city’s best-known and busiest street. The room was generally very clean and had bathroom amenities and disposable slippers. There’s a lift, though the hotel has just three floors, with seven rooms on each side of every floor. Some top-floor rooms are loft-style with a mezzanine and feel stuffy. The bathroom was extremely small. I’d suggest showering with the door open, otherwise it may feel hard to breathe. At the entrance there’s a table or counter with a fridge and chairs, and I still can’t see why it’s there. The air conditioner is above the bed, but there’s no control for it. The bed is made from two single sides pushed together. In short, they need to put more work into this place.

Clean, but very basic, and my room smelled strongly of sewer. It’s in central Odessa, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are much better choices nearby.
