Corona Hotel & Apartments

Corona is a relatively new property, and its high ceilings make the suite feel especially spacious. It seemed like one of the better buildings in the Arcadia area. Housekeeping was efficient, and the receptionists were friendly. If not for the manager, I’d have had time to write more about the hotel's positive points. Before booking, the hotel told us which things were included and which would cost extra. The deal seemed reasonable, and after persuading us to stay, they took an upfront cash payment. Then the manager had staff charge us at their discretion for things that were supposed to be included, and suddenly added 20% to some other services on the price list. When I raised the issue, I felt I was being non-confrontational. The administrator responded with aggressive shouting and personal attacks, tried to overpower us, changed the subject, and accused us of already having a “good deal.” The hotel hadn't been compelled to accept us. They had persuaded us to stay with the very offers the manager later refused to honor. A commercial disagreement between guests and a hotel wasn't the main issue for me. There’s a right way to speak to people, especially guests. This manager was intimidating and threatening toward guests under his care, and acted like a bully. He held us to ransom. He has no place working in hospitality.
