Frapolli Hotel

The old town location is nice, the hotel is well appointed, and the staff are pleasant. The restaurant is good, though they could get better at poached eggs, then maybe try an Odessa-style Eggs Benedict with salmon or regular bacon. They could call it Champie's Eggs Benedict. The airport service was nice, and there’s free guest parking out front. I wish I’d known about the parking. My one complaint is that someone confirmed two rooms on the same floor and next to each other, but they ended up on separate floors.

The menu is fantastic, fairly priced, and the portions are generous, especially at breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive, and that’s made Frapolli 21 my first choice in Odessa. It’s a clean, fresh, modern hotel in a great spot for both work and leisure.

The location is excellent, but the service fell far short of what I’d expect from a hotel claiming four stars. In the height of summer, our air conditioner stopped working. Reception told us for two days that it was fixed, then finally moved us to another room. That room had a clogged shower drain, and its air conditioner started leaking water across the floor in the middle of the night. We were again told it had been fixed, but the next night we came back to water all over the floor, even though the unit was off. At 2 a.m., I spent an hour arguing with reception while my wife was in tears before they let us switch rooms. It spoiled an otherwise great vacation in odessa.

The hotel is on Deribasovska Street, in an excellent location. My room was large, with a balcony and a comfortable bed. There was an A/C problem, but I expect it’ll be fixed before the really hot days arrive. Breakfast was good, the staff were very nice, and the price was reasonable. Guests also get a 15% discount card for the Restaurant and Irish Pub.
