Frederic Koklen Boutique Hotel

From the warm welcome onward, the staff made everything easy and pleasant. Their kindness and attention to detail gave the stay a personal feel and helped me feel safe and at home. The hotel was a peaceful escape from the outside world. Thank you to everyone, especially the hotel administration.

The breakfast was a real highlight, lots of hot and cold choices, pastries, and a very nice restaurant downstairs. It was included in our stay and felt like great value. The building is a renovated historic one, with modern comforts and themed floors, ours was the Spanish floor on the fourth level, with Italian and French floors too. Our standard double felt bigger than 25 m2, and the mattress was comfortable. Everything was spotless. The hotel is right by everything, but the street itself is quiet, and having enough parking in central Odesa is unusual. Excellent service for a reasonable price.

The location makes it easy to reach the main sights, right in the city center. Our room was clean, spacious, and fully equipped, and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant downstairs served delicious breakfasts and dinners. I’d recommend staying here in Odessa.

Sophie Cafe was worth coming back to: the buffet breakfast had Odessa specialties, and dinner with live music, lovely staff, and exquisite dishes made for a memorable evening. We liked it enough to eat there twice, which we rarely do when traveling. Our October 2017 stay was in the English-style suite. The rooms are cozy and extremely clean, with thoughtful interior details, and even the hallways have art and period touches. It felt like visiting extended family in 19th-early 20th century Odessa. The housekeeping team was thorough and a delight. The hotel sits in charming Old Odessa, close to nightlife and the main streets while still quiet and picturesque. Construction on Preobrazhenskaya St. disrupted the route I’d planned, but we could reach the major attractions another way via Sabaneev most. Most of all, the staff looked after us when my husband and I got sick after eating too much rich Ukrainian food. They were genuinely caring and made sure we were comfortable. Administrator Mariya was especially helpful throughout our stay.
