Pirs Hostel

The hostel was clean, and the hospitality was lovely. The owner and staff were so good ❤

A lovely spot to spend the night.

The fast Wi-Fi and clean, neatly prepared linens were great. The beds are very soft, and one of the two blankets is especially soft. There are three toilets and two showers, which is handy. The hostel is close to both the city center and the seaport, but it stays quiet thanks to good soundproofing. One of the best hostels in Odessa. The receptionist is a wonderful woman, polite, clever, kind, and honest.

The shared kitchen has dishes, a refrigerator, and a washing machine, and check-in was easy. The room is small but kept up, the price is reasonable, and it’s fairly near the center. Still, the street feels more industrial than central, even though it’s close by. For the same money, I could stay more centrally with my own kitchen and bathroom, even if the place wasn’t as newly renovated. The bed would be comfortable, the windows wouldn’t face a noisy road, and I’d have my own facilities. Noise was a big problem here. The window faces the street, where motorcycles and cars with straight-through exhausts race by, so it’s hard to stay in the room during the day. At night the air conditioner was blaring and kept me from sleeping. The spring mattress may be worn out or just very cheap, but its springs press into you everywhere and it’s painful to lie on. The shower and toilet area is damp and musty, and the floors are dirty throughout. There was no real feeling of cleanliness. The hallway was dark, maybe to save money, I don’t know. I had to use a flashlight to see in the bathroom despite the power being on. Disposable slippers and shampoo cost extra.
