There’s a good grocery store close by, but not much else to do, especially in the evenings. The sea isn’t far, though getting there on foot felt unsafe and inconvenient, particularly with kids. We stayed three days before I started looking for another hotel, and I wouldn’t consider this place suitable for families. We booked room 12, a studio for two adults and a child, at 1080 rubles a night. It was small, with a double bed, a sofa, a little TV, and a small fridge. There was no hairdryer or iron in the room. Apparently the hotel had just one of each, so you had to ask at reception. There were three of us but only two towels, both oddly mismatched and marked with faded stains. We asked for fresh ones and were ignored. The room was never cleaned, and after three days without toilet paper we went out and bought our own. The toilet gave us trouble the whole time. The flush didn’t work at first, so we asked the owner, or perhaps assistant manager, to fix it. He always seemed grumpy. Once repaired, the toilet kept refilling noisily day and night. The restaurant food was good, but the chef took a very long time to prepare it.

We had a lovely stay with our two-year-old. There are two nearby beaches to pick from, and the shore is pleasant, with little shells. The rooms were clean and roomy, with towels, air conditioning, a TV, a fridge, and lots of outlets. The atmosphere felt warm, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious.

The sea itself was gorgeous, but getting there meant a fairly long walk and then a descent down stairs. I wouldn’t attempt it with children, especially a stroller. There was nowhere on or near the beach to buy water, so bring what you need. In the neighborhood there’s only one store and not much else. I won’t return, and I’ll choose more carefully next time. We picked Rose of the Winds after seeing quite a few good reviews. At the entrance, a man sat smoking with coffee. Reception was empty, and when he came over looking annoyed, he called the receptionist and went back. She was much friendlier, gave us a key, and showed us to the room. The view was disappointing. The comfortable bed and air conditioning were about the only good parts. The lighting was very poor. Many switches didn’t work, and the hallway was dark too, making it hard to get the key in. There were four wall lamps and one in the bathroom, plus other fixtures without bulbs. There were just three outlets: one for the fridge, one for the TV, and one free. The room smelled, and there was extensive mold in the ceiling corners. The wallpaper had been patched over in places, as if someone was trying to cover it up. Outside the window was a construction site, with neighbors and assorted junk on the other side. The bathroom was in rough shape. Its ceiling was in bad condition and a second light was missing. There was hair in the shower tray, the shower curtain was black along the bottom, and the plumbing looked ready to be replaced. Hot water was available, but it took a while to drain. The toilet button worked only sometimes. There was gel or shampoo and soap that looked more like laundry soap. The towels and sheets seemed clean, but were quite worn and heavily washed. The carpet felt like a downside, and I didn’t dare go barefoot on it, especially after seeing the dust behind the unplugged TV. There was a closet and mirror, which was handy, though it was so dim you could hardly see anything.

We were happy with our stay and plan to come back. The hotel is spacious, attractive, and welcoming, and the owners clearly put a lot of care into the renovation and design. The pool was clean, with lovely wooden furniture instead of plastic tables and loungers. There’s parking, air conditioning in the room, and the sea is about a 10-minute walk away. I’d recommend it. The one issue was the Wi-Fi in our room.
