There was plenty to do nearby, from fishing, sauna, and swimming to a hot air balloon flight and trips to castles. Skiing here in early March wasn't bad either. We had a wonderful visit, with good hotel service, crisp white sheets, and a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant was excellent. All the food was very good, with lots of local dishes on the menu and moderate prices. Recommended.

The food was a highlight for me, and the rooms, pool, and whole facility felt welcoming. We came for a family group holiday with relatives from the UK. Our first booking was at Kontynent, but the rooms and service there weren't up to our standards, so we went to Kateryn Hotel instead. The friendly manager showed us around before we even booked and spoke English, which was a big help. Miroslav, the administrator, was very kind and got our BBQ area and equipment ready for the evening. Miroslav also suggested things we could do around the city during the day. We were very happy with the cleanliness and the friendly staff at Kateryna.

The food wasn't worth what they charge, and the restaurant was dirty. There is a fresh fishpond there, which is a cool touch. The architecture is beautiful, with logs and river rock, and the location near the mountains is lovely. They also have a pool, banya, and chan. Still, it felt expensive and dirty. Keep looking.
