Boutique Hotel Central

The breakfast was a pleasant surprise: not huge, but well balanced, tasty, and filling enough for anyone who wants more than a continental meal. Staff kept everything fresh and the platters full. There were a couple of small hassles, including a payment issue that meant paying cash and scrambling to find local currency, but everything was handled professionally. There was also a note about the payment problem at booking. The hotel is clean, nice, and in a perfect location.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and room service responded well. The parking isn't guarded, though, and the walls are thin enough that you can hear pretty much everything next door. Still, this is the best hotel in Ukraine I've stayed at so far.

The location is good and the place is clean enough, but several things fell short. My room hadn't been cleaned, there was no peephole in the door, no bathroom towel hook, and the toilet seat kept closing while I was sitting on it. There was no kettle or refrigerator either. The front desk wasn't helpful when I asked for hot water and sent me to the restaurant next door. Breakfast came too late despite being promised early. I was also charged tourist tax even though my trip was for business.

A good spot in the center, with restaurants close by, and the hotel and room equipment are new. The breakfast was too small for me, with too little to choose from, so I was still hungry. The reception payment terminal also didn't work every day, which caused me trouble paying. Maybe something here is illegal?
