On 18.5.2026, the yard-facing rooms on the third floor were quiet and clean, with AC. There’s a bit of a Soviet-style feel to the administration, but the price matched the stay. Parking is still awkward: go via Mudrogo, then turn right into the backyard of Rakocsi mansion by the police/barrier and drive about 30 meters against the one-way lane. My 2.9.2023 stay was a pleasant surprise after I’d read the reviews and felt a little worried. Standard 202 had been refurbished, with a view of Ratusha. The room was fairly small, especially the bathroom, but comfortable and clean. They brought a kettle for free as soon as I asked. The wooden floor was noisy, though the night was calm. The parking area is large and guarded, but getting there is tricky: you have to reach the hotel’s backyard and drive 20 meters along the Rakoczi-manor against a one-way sign. I’d have breakfast at a cafe instead, as the 200 UAH price wasn’t worth it for me. The Wi-Fi was very poor.

We paid 990 UAH for room 320, a twin standard. The room was old and not properly clean, the toilet smelled of sewage, and the old plumbing had broken parts. The bed linen looked clean but was very wrinkled. Service was poor throughout. We arrived around 12:30 at night, and one receptionist seemed very unhappy to see us; another was overly active and asked too many private questions. At the restaurant, the staff seemed unprofessional and unfriendly, and the receptionist there couldn’t do anything. There were only a few breakfast choices. We ordered the English breakfast, which was two eggs and two small tomato pieces, plus fresh juice that seemed to come from some cheap box. Service was very slow, and lots of people were angry about the service and food. After nearly two weeks in Germany and Vienna, where we’d stayed for 45-50 euros a night with breakfast, getting this level of service and “food” for the same money was very disappointing. We’ll never come back.

The hot breakfast was delicious, though mine arrived quite a bit later than everyone else’s at the table. They’d already finished eating by the time it came, but it was still hot, so no big deal. The hotel is very nice and sits in the middle of the old town. Our room was a good size and had a mini fridge and kettle.

We got in at 2 AM and had no trouble staying, thanks to the professional, sweet staff. The Comfort class room was perfectly fine for our one night, and the location is right in the center of Mukachevo.
