Hostel Tarnopil

The location is good, the furniture is fine, and the place looked clean. Staff were friendly, and smokers have a huge warm terrace with chairs and ashtrays. That said, the room I booked was supposed to be a private twin with one large double bed. Reception called after I booked in the evening for the next night and said it was occupied, then offered another option for a slightly higher price. They left out that the alternative was a four-person room with bunk beds. My boyfriend and I were really upset. The room was only about 5 square meters, with roughly 50 cm between the bunks and another 50 cm from the beds to the windows. It felt like a closet, with no space or air. There’s no air conditioning, and the only window faces the shared terrace, which people use for smoking. Smokers could go outside on the terrace, but it’s not okay to have the room’s only ventilation coming from a smoking area. The showers smelled bad too. The pipes need cleaning, not just the floor.

Had a great time 🤩 No rats in the bed, fish in the toilet, gorilla in the shower, or trees in the sink.

Good facilities for an affordable price, and the service was helpful. I’d recommend this hotel, though they need to improve communication in English.

A straightforward, pleasant hostel with friendly staff and decent rates.
