Hotel Ungvarskiy

We used the Carpathian sauna, and it was a great experience. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and the receptionist who welcomed us was lovely and explained what we needed to know. There’s also a beauty specialist, but they were fully booked so I couldn’t try the services. They didn’t charge extra for my dog, which I appreciated, and I’d recommend staying here. The hotel is in a very residential neighborhood, so I wondered if my GPS had sent us the wrong way. The rooms all face inward around a courtyard. On a hot summer night it was noisy, and I had to keep the window closed, which made the room too warm. I wish they had air conditioning.

The restaurant serves generous, delicious meals, and there’s also a conference hall with the infrastructure for business events. Inside, the courtyard is especially beautiful. Service is good and the rooms are comfortable. There’s a spa with massages, cosmetics, and other treatments for health and beauty, plus a bath for anyone who enjoys steaming. A good choice for people who care about their health or want to improve it.

The restaurant is pleasant in general, but service could be better. We waited for our order, and the waiter wasn’t very attentive. Their Valentine’s Day program felt out of place, with the host bothering everyone with pretty silly questions. Then, at the end, the bill included a drink nobody had ordered.

There was plenty to do at this beautiful resort, though it’s a bit far from the center. The staff were cheerful and tried to help, even though their English wasn’t very strong.
